I get to serve with the cute little primary kids at my church (18 month-11 year olds) and we needed a cute way to give them these little CTR (Choose the Right) bracelets for their birthdays.
I really didn't want to spend money so I just used what I had. I made these using:
- ribbon
- glue gun with hot glue
- black cardstock
- An embossing pen, powder and a heat gun (You can buy all three here)
- gold rickrack
- gold spray paint
Okay, so here we go:
First, I glued the ribbon around the outside of the jar. (Tip: There are always scraps of ribbon for sale at craft and fabric stores for super cheap so you don't need to splurge on a whole spool). I chose the black and white polka dot one, then glued the skinnier gold ribbon on top of that.
I wrote "Happy Birthday" on cardstock (any paper will work but I like the look of cardstock best) with my embossing pen and poured the embossing powder on top. I then poured off the excess and heated the remaining with my heat gun. (You can get the embossing tools as a set here). I cut out my words and glued rickrack (that adorable little kinky ribbon you can use for sewing) around the outside.
Then, I wrote "CTR" in glue with my glue gun. I waited for it to dry and then sprayed it with gold paint. And voila! You're done!
Super easy and cheap! You can buy everything at Hobby Lobby or any other craft store, or just get follow the links and get it all on Amazon and never even leave your house! Jammies for the win!
Good luck and have fun!
